With the Easter holidays in full swing and families looking for ways to keep the children entertained, Kings Square is set to host a free outdoor cinema screening event on Saturday 30th March for all to attend.
The first film to be shown on the 6ft LED screen will be The LEGO Movie at 12:30, followed by The Greatest Showman at 15:00.
60 deckchairs will be laid out in front of the screen for families to get comfortable in as they prepare for the movies. These are also free to use, but are available on a first-come, first-served basis; families are welcome to bring their own chairs to sit in if they want to guarantee they’ll have a seat.
Both films will have subtitles enabled, allowing for an inclusive experience for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. This has been arranged with the support of Gloucester Deaf Association, who will be present at the event and will have a presence within King’s Walk Shopping Centre for anyone interested in finding out more about what the charity does.
Jason Robinson, Senior Destination Manager for King’s Walk Shopping Centre, commented:
“We’re excited to kick off our first event in Kings Square this weekend and hope that many families and shoppers will enjoy the two movies on offer. The LEGO Movie is celebrating its 10th birthday this year, believe it or not, and The Greatest Showman is the fifth highest-grossing live-action musical film of all time. Both films have captured the hearts of many around the world and we’re looking forward to enjoying them with some sweets and snacks from the many food and drink retailers that line Kings Square.”
