King’s Walk Shopping Centre and Eastgate Shopping Centre have raised more than £20,000 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, supporting veterans, serving personnel and their families.
The impressive total was generated through a combination of cash and card donations from shoppers, retailers, centre teams, cleaners and security staff across both destinations.
Both centres also donated prominent space for Poppy Appeal collection points, helping to maximise visibility and encourage public engagement throughout the campaign.
Eastgate Shopping Centre contributed £14,399.42, while King’s Walk raised £5,814.59, taking the combined total comfortably beyond the £20,000 milestone.
The fundraising success forms part of the wider Gloucester City Poppy Appeal, which has raised £62,625.43 to date.
Jason Robinson, Senior Destination Manager for King’s Walk and Eastgate Shopping Centre, said the result reflected a true collective effort across both sites.
He said the generosity shown by shoppers, retailers and on-site teams had been exceptional, with everyone playing a role in supporting the appeal.
Bob Perkins, Poppy Appeal Organiser for the City of Gloucester, thanked both centres for their continued commitment to the cause.
He said the support from shoppers, management teams, cleaners and security staff made a genuine difference and was invaluable to the appeal’s success.
